Service Design

Discover how easy and efficient your processes can become.

Successful projects begin by asking questions and listening. What process is in use now, or is this a new process? Who takes part? When do specific actions need to be taken and by whom? How do those steps happen? Where are each role’s challenges?

I facilitate in-person or online discovery sessions, asking questions and defining assumptions to better understand the process. Everyone on the team can grasp the requirements and decide which ones are needed in a minimum viable product, and which ones can enhance the product later.

When creating user flows and process maps, I use a modification of event storming. This tool depicts the flow of experiences in one path, noting which user or system is completing a task. Well received and understood by users, management, and developers, this tool provides a solid foundation for creating prototypes and documenting business requirements. View a sample of Modified Event Storming using my website template process.

Using Figma or Adobe XD, I create prototypes, following the design patterns and prioritizing accessibility and user needs. Once ready, I lead usability sessions to ensure the design satisfies requirements in real-world situations. Throughout the process, listening to the development team is critical to manage expectations successfully.

From start to finish, each project requires excellent communication skills.

Website Templates

Pick and choose. Keep it simple. Leave and create.

Simplifying website creation using templates is nothing new. Full-design options are expensive and intimidating. And yet, even the building block sites can be overwhelming. Time is a limited resource, and taking time to learn a website builder quickly becomes expensive.

Creating your online presence using my website templates is perfect for anyone short on time who only needs a simple site.

These templates allow people to arrange their website using modest options and an interchangeable structure. They select website components: a header style, footer style, and several options for the body styles. They provide text, font, colors, and images. After a review and editing phase, the site goes up using their domain name.

People want to focus their energy on generating their creative product, whether books, visual art, music, or something else. They want and need a simple online presence, and they also want to own that presence. When your intellectual property is your income, keeping control of that IP is critical.

The simplicity of the process and design elements means less stress and cost, without the need to learn technical details.

People can have their site and create their products too.
